RUSSEL MOORE, V
RUSSEL MOORE, V
President
"I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. 'This the business of little minds to shrink, but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death." Thomas Paine Russel Moore, V was born in Dekalb County, Georgia and was raised in Rockdale County, Georgia. He graduated from Heritage High School and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Industry Management from Georgia State University in 1999. While working full time as a Real Estate Title Examiner, Russel obtained a Juris Doctorate degree from John Marshall Law School. Russel was in the Leadership Rockdale Class of 2001 and was a previous Ambassador for the Rockdale County Chamber of Commerce. He was the Vice-President of the Rockdale County Bar Association in 2011 and 2012 and the President for 2013 and 2014. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Rockdale County Bar Association and is admitted to practice in front of all Georgia Courts, including the Georgia Supreme Court and the Georgia Court of Appeals. His primary focus in the practice of law is Family law, including Divorce, Child Support, Custody, Modification, and Legitimation. He also handles various probate and contract litigation matters. While Russel enjoys the give and take of the Court Room and feels strongly that litigation has its place, most cases can be settled without the added expense of a bench or jury trial. He feels mediation and negotiation should be the cornerstone of a successful law practice, with litigation being the last resort. Russel grew up and still remains a resident of Rockdale County. He is currently the Chairperson for the Rockdale County Board of Ethics and serves as the Treasurer on the Board for Unity East of Atlanta where he and his wife, Bonny are members. They have a son, Russel, and two great Pyrenees, all three of whom are the light of their life.

Vice President
Teresa Johnson and her husband,Don Johnson, found this Unity Church in the '80's, at the invitation of friends,  and have embraced this spiritual path for their lives since.  Living in Covington, they are recently retired professionals with children and grandchildren living in the same community.  They are happy and grateful for now having more time to give back and participate more in their community and to this loving Church family.  After years of seeking, the Unity Principles are, as they describe, "the most true path for us."

I was born in Caracas, Venezuela. In 1981, I came to Martin, Tennessee to study English and to complete my studies in Physics. After completing the English program at University of Tennessee at Martín, I moved to Murfreesboro, Tennessee where I completed my studies at Middle Tennessee State University. I started working as a bilingual assistant in the schools and fell in love with the teaching profession, so I went back to school to become an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) teacher. Ihave been teaching since then. I am an avid learner. I love to learn new things, so I try to be involved in as many classes as I can. In my free time I like to crochet, knit, paint, or solve Sudoku and logic problems. My favorite thing is to walk on the beach, and my goal is to move next to the ocean. Meanwhile, I believe that I am very fortunate because I have been blessed with a very fulfilling spiritual home, a supporting family, loyal friends, wonderful co-workers, loving students, and the most wonderful children: Vanessa and Bryan Thompson.
